If you’re looking for a field watch that you can actually wear in the field without worrying about scratching it, this MTM Special Ops Black Hawk Tactical is the wrist equipment that fits the bill. This is one of MTM’s early pieces and a rare find.

Beater Watch Alert
Don’t be scurred! This piece has been worn and it’s ready to be worn some more! It’s taken a beating, but it’s a tough timepiece that can withstand just about anything you throw at it, or throw it at – although the later is not recommended by any means.

LED Lights Built-In
The Black Hawk has a button at 2:00 which controls two modes of lighting that come from a triad of built-in LEDs at 12, 4, and 8. The first mode is blue and the second is a bright orange. Use it as a flashlight or a signaling device.

Electromagnetic Technology
MTM Special Ops was experimenting with different tech before the world was inundated with Apple watches. The Black Hawk watch includes a charging base that uses electromagnetic induction to charge the battery inside. This is necessary to power the LEDs. You don’t have to plug anything into the watch, just lay the caseback on the charging base until it’s fully charged.

Condition: Heavy wear on the side of the case, we’re talking nicks and dents, but surprisingly the PVD coating (maybe DLC) is not too bad, except near the caseback where it has come off. The crystal is excellent. The bezel is very good. The strap that is installed is good with lots of life left in it. The original bracelet is included, but it is BAD. The PVD coating in mostly worn and scratched all over, and the previous owner tried to remedy it by applying black paint. The watch charges as it should and the lights are nice and bright.
