Buren Alarm Watch
Buren was founded in 1898 in the town of Buren an der Aare. They mostly produced pocket watches and table clocks, but luckily for vintage alarm timepiece collectors, they also made this automatic alarm watch for the wrist. Check out that squiggly alarm hand!
Interesting fact about Buren: Hamilton bought them in 1966. This acquisition helped the Swiss be able to stop producing watches in America. Buren was working on movements and had their hands in the making of the first automatic chronograph movement. The shop was shut down in 1972.

“There are two crowns. The crown at 2:00 winds the alarm. The crown at 4:00 winds the movement and sets the time. You also set the alarm hand with the crown at 4:00 by turning it counter-clockwise. Then, to activate the alarm function, you pull the 2:00 crown out…pushing in to disable the alarm.” –calibercorner.com
