Within the first 60 seconds of the 2024 animated movie “That Christmas”, we see Bill the lighthouse manager raise his arm for a glowing wristshot of his SACIO 90W digital watch.
As the clock strikes 00:00:00 on Saturday 12/25, the 90W’s alarm beeps and thus it is officially time for Santa’s arrival… Christmas is here!
Is Sacio real watch brand?
Sacio isn’t a real brand… but Casio is!
The animators of the film simply scrambled the letters by switching the C and S to make a fictional watch brand.
The 90W watch looks familiar…
That’s because it is one of the most ubiquitous watches around!
The film’s 90W watch is based on the popular Casio F-91W, what KeepTheTime calls the most respected cheap watch money can buy.
Maybe not everyone’s grail, but it is a great overall watch that you can find for under 20 bucks. The F-91W would be an excellent choice for a lighthouse operator: Lightweight, affordable to replace, water resistant, dependable, accurate quartz with an alarm, chronograph stopwatch and 24 hour time – but, when 90W worn by Bill to the real F91, the 90W backlight wins.
The F-91W does have a light, but it isn’t quite as bright as the one the animators equipped the 90W with in the movie. They made that thing look more like a Casio Illuminator F105W.
So if you want a brightly glowing affordable watch, you may want to check out the Illuminator models . But if you want an IRL souvenir from That Christmas, consider adding a legendary F91W to your collection. Find it on here.
