Rolex added a new Everose gold Yachtmaster (reference 116655) to their sport line this year at Baselworld 2015.
You can now get the 40mm and 37mm Yachty in a pink gold case with a black bezel and black strap. Wait, cross that out, you can get it on a black rubber “bracelet”. Rolex is calling their new invention the Oysterflex – what they consider a blend of strap and bracelet.
Rolex is introducing a new black and 18 ct Everose gold version of its nautical Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master, fitted exclusively with the innovative Oysterflex bracelet developed and patented by Rolex. This technical bracelet combines in a singular way the robustness and reliability of a metal bracelet with the flexibility, comfort and aesthetics of an elastomer strap. At its core lies a superelastic metal blade overmoulded with high-performance black elastomer. The new Yacht‑Master is offered in two sizes: 40 mm and a new 37 mm diameter.
The bezel is Cerachrom (Rolex’s fancy way of saying ceramic) with raised numerals in tradition Yacht-Master fashion. Thankfully the matte black numerals on this new style won’t be prone to scratching like the older models.
The black dial features markers filled with Chromalight (Rolex’s fancy name for their lume) and will glow blue.
This 100m/330ft on-boat-out-of-water splendor features the caliber 3135 automatic movement, where you can find the “Paramagnetic” blue “Parachrom” hairspring inside.
