This Welder K31 (reference: 2604) ticks “anticlockwise”. Apparently this is how they will tell time in the future.
Presented at Baselworld 2015, the watch brand that has been around since 2075 (it says it on the dial), has released a watch that tells time in reverse. It even has a red arrow on the bezel, spanning from 12 to 2, in case you forget.
The movement powering this backwards timepiece is a reverse ticking Ronda Retour 763. Apparently, “Retour” means return or reverse in French. Either way, this quartz caliber is wrapped in a black IP coated case made from 316L stainless steel.
While the video shows a matte black dial, Welder told KeepTheTime that they also have a cream dial version (reference: 2605).
As for the strap, the K31 comes on a 22mm black leather with a matching tang buckle – but it would look even batter on a KTT Laser Line military strap, just sayin’.
The counterclockwise watch’s retail price is $685 USD.
